Without volunteers, there would be no Black Nights film festival (PÖFF). It’s that simple. This year too, PÖFF is waiting for help from all those who are ready to contribute to the organization of one of the largest film events in Northern Europe.
From ticket checkers to hosts and drivers to photographers, we have more than a dozen jobs to offer. All volunteers undergo extensive training.
In return, every volunteer can watch PÖFF films for free and use discounts only valid during the festival time and intended for wolves (as a symbol of the festival), including lunches, etc. We also organize special movie nights and get-togethers.
In total, we expect 450 volunteers to join us in Tallinn and Tartu (PÖFF, PÖFF Tartu, Just Film, PÖFF Shorts, Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event).
The festival takes place 8th to 24th November 2024.
The deadline for registration is September 25th, 2024.
Since 2019, the Black Nights Film Festival is carrying the Volunteer Friend badge, which is granted to organizations that have excelled in volunteer engagement and showed a high level of professionalism in dealing with them.
What skills/resources are expected from the voulunteers?
From ticket checkers to hosts and from drivers to photographers, there are more than a dozen jobs to choose from. All those interested can note down jobs that match their interests and skills, and shall undergo training. The trainings take place between 14.10-07.11 – the exact schedule depends on the department and the city, however you should count on at least 1 to 3 group meetings.
In general, each volunteer contributes 35-40 hours of their time during the festival weeks. Each field has its own manager and work is schedule-based.
What volunteering offers?
New PÖFF volunteers can join the so-called wolf pack of volunteers who participate in PÖFF every year, which has formed over the years.
All volunteers who have completed the training will receive a certificate (upon request) for both training completion and the volunteer work performed, which could be useful for both school and workplace.
What does the organization offer?
In return, the volunteer can watch PÖFF films for free and use various partner discounts valid only during the festival time, including lunches etc. In addition, among other things, we offer special events, a PÖFF sweatshirt, movie nights, various discounts, nice company, unique work experience, etc. It’s great to be with us!
